if ecto price was a problem, the simplest and easiest solution would be to lower the ecto drop count. it's by far the easiest to implement. sf didn't need a nerf, and buffing the chaos planes made it worse for all farmers, terras, 55s, etc. the planes and sf should be reverted to 20080521, and ecto drop % reduced, and then leave it.

there's a way to solo almost every area in the game with every class, invincibility is not the issue. the issue is peen size, to which i think the peen wavers should really get over it.

there have been more than a few missions where we just didn't anticipate the enemy count, their skill variation or their position. . . and 3 hrs of work was saved by the mighty permasin. sf didn't just make a better game, it made us better people. how many of us, while trading or waiting, saw some poor guy rezone 3 times, 'LFG for MIS', each time with a more desperate plea: 'LFR for MIS 1k', 'plz help with mis, plz plz plz'; and we run them for free just because we can? i gave a friend a dwayna's grace because. . . he was my friend. sf wasn't simply a free pass to ectos, it enabled us to enjoy rather than compete. it gave us freedom, it gave us opportunities, and it gave us . . . well, ectos too =P

This is how it goes:

Guildies- Not a viable solution when you don't have guild members on. Get a new guild? Not always a viable solution for everyone, and the majority of the guilds are filled with bastards and drama.

Friends- Same with guild pretty much. Make new friends? Not entirely easy because of bastards and drama, oh and the hordes of people who want to use Ursan cause you don't have to think.

PUGs- They ALL use Ursan, so yeah can't go there. I've seen more req 8 15^50 Crystalline swords than pugs who don't use Ursan.

Create your own PUG that's non Ursan- You spend 3 hours putting together a group cause the 1 or 2 people you get leave after the first 30 minutes of spamming because no one wants to think about the game, they just want to blow through it with Ursan.

So yeah that's out the door. The most viable choice is nerfing Ursan to a state where no one wants to use it, and banning all the people who don't know how to play the game and don't invite Mesmers, Assassins, Ritualists and the rest of em.

Or hell just say RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO Guild Wars and forget about it and then move on to GW 2 because can't repair this game with just one Dev working on it.

I don't think people realize that sometimes farming and finding new ways to effectively solo (i.e. get the best of the system) is the way some people ENJOY PvE. Beyond making money, beyond finding ways to exploit certain skills against certain monsters, some people really enjoy the creative aspect of the game in that manner.

If it's about money, take away elite areas in general. If it's about people doing things alone, take out heroes and henchmen. Playing solo builds is just another aspect of the game and people really shouldn't be so hostile about it.

And please, make your examples make sense.

Either revert it, or make it so those under SF can't attack or cast spells without stripping SF (similar to Dodge etc.)

As I have said before:
Teams of X foes of the same class with the same skillbar are bad.
They spawn gimmicks.
Which farming is.

Balance those teams. The easiest way is to remove a few of the foes in those teams and replace them with monks (and smiters don't count as monks btw!). Since the AI is dumb - that won't make it any harder for normal teams - yet it makes it much harder (or next to impossible) to farm.
That way you don't rely on countering the current gimmick - but you rather outplay it.

i dont feel the entire UW farming community should be taxed because of an overpowered build. Reducing ecto drop % would ultimately dissolve the problem, but would make it even more unfair for say the 600/smite teams or other *normal* solo farm builds. just revert the damn skill lol xD

PvE hasn't been interesting for months and when I heard about the possibility to farm ecto's like that I actualy played PvE a few days until they nerfed it. I don't care about ecto prices because in my opinion ecto's should only be used to create armor and not a trading currency like the community made it.
